Event cameras: framing, lenses and operation

Before counting cameras, list what you cannot miss: who is speaking, where they move, which detail must be shown and what the editor will do with the footage. An extra camera helps when it has a task and a clear view. For screens, streaming and editing, also check which signal and file each destination needs.

Tell us what you need to show, stream or record. You can ask without model numbers, while the date or positions are undecided, and request equipment only, setup or operation.

Ask about cameras for my event

Count shots and tasks before cameras

Separate image magnification on screens, live program and footage for editing. Program is the event's selected shots; recording each camera separately requires other routes and media. Choose priorities before positioning equipment.

For a conference, mark the lectern, speaker's movement, panel, questions and demonstrations. For a band, vocals, instruments, solos and audience. For a gala, arrival, presentation, photo and exit. Assign these tasks so that all cameras do not look for the same person at once.

The table suggests positions to compare tasks. It is not a formula based on attendance: a column, a standing audience or an unstaffed shot may require a different layout.

Test the lens from its working position

Measure the distance to the subject and find the tightest and widest shots. Focal length, sensor and framing work together. A 16× label only compares the zoom's endpoints; it does not tell you whether a face will fill the frame from the back of the room.

Have the presenter walk and test switching between two people. Record aperture and sensitivity under event lighting. For a demonstration, check minimum focusing distance and angle: from above you may see the table but lose the hands or label you need to show.

Choose a firm position that retains a view when the audience stands. Review height, tripod, platform and access with the setup team. For a PTZ, include power, control and presets: remote movement cannot see through a column.

Choose the tasks you need from GLMedia

Start with a need: showing the speaker on screen, streaming a contribution or keeping footage for editing. We agree on destinations, equipment and responsibilities with your team, the venue and other providers.

Prepared equipment and handover

We define camera, lens, support, accessories and connections, and agree preparation, delivery or pickup and return. We identify who installs, operates and checks the files.

Ask about camera equipment

Installation, connection and testing

We agree positions, installation, cable routes, connections, signal checks and removal of the contracted system. We define who receives the system and who operates it after technical handover.

Ask about camera setup

Operation during rehearsal and event

We define direction, operators, communications, schedules, shots and recording for the project. Cameras can be combined with LED, audio, lighting, recording and streaming within an agreed technical scope.

Ask about cameras with operation

GLMedia is responsible for the contracted equipment and technical tasks. The client or production team confirms the program, content, image use, deliverables and who gives instructions. The venue confirms access, power and permitted positions. We agree connections and responsibilities with other providers. Overall event organization stays with the client or their appointed organizer.

SDI, HDMI and NDI: follow the signal to its destination

For each segment, record connector, resolution, fps, standard and receiver. As a reference, URSA Broadcast G2 lists SDI 1.5G, 3G, 6G and 12G with their HD and UHD formats. Those specifications apply to that model: another device with BNC may accept only some of those signals. URSA Broadcast G2: specifications.

For HDMI, check output format, compatible capture and a clean image without menus. Test cables and converters at the actual length. If using a converter, specify what it receives and outputs: changing connectors does not always change resolution or frame rate.

For NDI, identify the format at both ends. High Bandwidth, HX2 and HX3 differ in codec, bandwidth and delay; check what each model supports and the network load. NDI: formats. Coordinate that network with the event connectivity plan (Spanish).

Match camera formats and color

Choose the standard with the switcher, recorders, screens and platform. Write the exact frame rate: 29.97 and 30 differ, as do 59.94 and 60. Mark any conversion point. Capture, transmission and delivery can use different resolutions when the workflow allows for them.

Compare faces between cameras under each scene's lighting. Sony explains the relationship between fps and shutter speed and warns that automatic white balance can vary with lighting changes. Agree on exposure and white balance so a cut does not also change the speaker's skin tone. Sony: video settings.

Test LED, lighting fixtures and movement with the actual settings. If a change reduces banding, check its effect on the other shots. Also review camera and output color processing: someone expecting a finished image should not receive a flat signal still requiring treatment.

Direction, audio and communication between positions

Number cameras and inputs consistently. Check that the director can request a shot and the operator can confirm when it is ready. If using tally, check its on-air indication from each position. Include return, control and power in cable-route checks.

With the sound team, follow the mix of speakers, videos, remote participants and ambience through to program. Watch and listen to the final output to adjust synchronization. The camera microphone may sound fine while program is missing the presentation audio.

For screens, follow the video guide (Spanish); for the editor, the recording guide. If languages are involved, record the mix each destination receives using the simultaneous interpretation guide (Spanish).

Adapt coverage to the venue and program

In a hotel, walk the positions between columns and tables. Check the ceiling, circulation and what changes when someone stands. For panels, rehearse both ends of the table and audience questions. If using a roaming camera, define where it can go and how it communicates with direction.

At concerts, test the darkest and brightest states, LED and the musician's movements. Keep a wide shot available while other cameras find details. Outdoors, test at the time of use: daylight, sunset and night may need different settings. Coordinate power, protection and environmental conditions with the setup team.

If showing the audience, agree with production and the venue how those images will be used. Give each operator their positions, tasks and key moments: an award presentation or a question from the back should not surprise the crew.

The camera check before doors open

Check each camera, then the program leaving the switcher. Save settings; if a position, lens or format changes, repeat the part of rehearsal affected by that change.

  1. Position cameras and assign shots

Mark subjects and positions. Measure distances and check views and access with the room set up.

  2. Set up and number equipment

Prepare supports, power and cables; use the same number on the camera, input and recording media.

  3. Follow each signal

Check format, fps and clean image through to switcher, recorder, screen or encoder.

  4. Match images under the actual lighting

Compare exposure, white balance, color and focus. Also test the LED background and working light.

  5. Rehearse switches and movements

Test contributions, movements, communication, return, audio and synchronization.

  6. Check outputs and test recovery

Check program, files and streaming. Assign who recovers a failed camera or route.

What we need to plan coverage

Send us the program, floor plan, distances and participant positions. Explain what goes to screens, what is streamed and what the editor receives: ISO, program, photos or edited pieces.

Check that the proposal covers positions, lenses, supports, signals, direction, operators and communications. Allow rehearsal time. Request specific models and confirm date availability with the intended lenses and connections.

Three useful camera and PTZ tests

The following public questions describe three different situations: an input distorting the image, PTZ movements unsuitable for air and focus aids.

The camera fails on only one input

Record camera, generation, firmware, format, cable and switcher input. Then change one thing at a time: the same camera on another input, another camera on the suspect input and a known short cable. Check whether the defect follows the camera, cable route or input.

If reassigning ATEM Mini Pro inputs, review buttons, shots and audio so direction knows what it selects. Check each camera format; do not extend that behavior to other ATEM models.

The Mini Pro specifications support 1080p30 and describe conversion on its four inputs, but do not explain this fault. When reviewing PTZOptics firmware, identify the generation and PoE variant before choosing the file. Finish with all cameras powered on and a test matching the event's duration and conditions.

Cross-check with ATEM Mini Pro: inputs, conversion and formats and PTZOptics SDI/NDI G2: firmware and PoE variant selection.

Which PTZ movements work on air

Test at the zoom you will use. A start that seems acceptable in a wide shot may be obvious on a tight face shot. Follow a person, make a small correction, stop and watch a normal-speed recording. Another controller may change operation, but does not by itself ensure a usable movement.

On compatible G2 models, Call Preset Speed is in OSD, P/T/Z, ranging from 1, slowest, to 24, fastest. It affects preset recall; test manual operation separately. MotionSync coordinates pan, tilt and zoom toward a preset and the manufacturer describes it as experimental. Check its behavior in your framing.

If the correction remains abrupt, cut to another camera or the wide shot and reposition the PTZ off air. Prepare that coverage and those presets during rehearsal.

Settings and limits are in PTZOptics G2: preset speed and MotionSync and the SDI/NDI G2 firmware guide.

Use focus assistance, then check the clean image

Have the speaker walk with the event's framing, distance and light. Peaking or colored lines can help track focus; choose an aid you can distinguish against that background.

The original URSA Broadcast manual offers peaking or colored lines in Focus Assist. The current URSA Broadcast G2 page also separates focus and zebra: zebra helps with exposure and does not demonstrate sharpness. Find the controls for the model in use before transferring menu names.

Test the movement in a tight shot and check what reaches the switcher and recorder. Keep marks only on the intended monitoring outputs. Save a take and view it without aids: that shows the focus that will actually remain in program and the file.

Functions are described in the original URSA Broadcast manual: Focus Assist and Focus Color and in URSA Broadcast G2: monitoring controls and overlays.

The focus box appears over HDMI: check the display mode

If a Canon EOS R50 sends the focus box to the switcher, set movie mode and find HDMI display in SHOOT6. Choose the option with camera and external-monitor icons to retain the camera screen. Note the recording limit: in that option, the R50 does not record to its SD card.

Connect everything as it will be used and check the switcher's received input. Move the focus point and confirm it does not appear in that signal. Then record a test on the chosen system and play it back; a clean camera screen alone does not approve the file you will deliver.

For events over 30 minutes, Canon specifies that same option and disabling Auto power off in Power saving. Test the planned duration with the actual power supply and recorder. During output, opening menus or playing images may put them on HDMI: coordinate those changes with the switcher operator.

The menu and its limits are in EOS R50 HDMI display.

The PTZ focuses on the microphone: test movement under event lighting

If the PTZ focuses on the microphone but leaves the speaker soft, repeat that shot under the event's light and background. Record model, firmware, zoom and distance. Have someone walk the intended route and observe when focus changes.

On MOVE 4K, AF Zone selects the focusing area and AF Sensitivity changes response speed. Compare Normal with Low, changing only that control and repeating the movement. These are settings to test; lowering sensitivity does not guarantee sharpness as someone approaches the camera.

For a contribution from a fixed position, test Manual and focus on the face. SNAP performs a single autofocus and returns to Manual. If the participant then changes distance, check focus again before putting that shot on air.

Focus Limit may help when the camera seeks much closer objects, such as a table edge near the lens. Set the limit using actual distances and check the whole route: do not expect it to separate a face from a microphone at almost the same distance. These controls are in the MOVE 4K focus guide and its OSD menu.

To match PTZ cameras, compare white, skin and exposure

Place a matte white card at the speaker's position under the light used for the talk. View it from each camera and compare a face too. A differently lit wall may give you a consistent wall balance but a different result on the person.

On Panasonic AW-HE40, choose AWB A or AWB B and fill the frame with white without strong reflections. Full Auto uses ATW, which keeps adjusting white balance; check that mode if you want to retain a balance. The HE40 manual, pp.17–19 distinguishes these functions.

VAR sets a temperature, but Panasonic says the number is a reference. Setting identical Kelvin values does not prove the images match. Compare white, skin and exposure on the same output; if fine-tuning R Gain or B Gain, remember that running AWB again resets them to zero.

With the AW-RP60, p.13, check that the correct camera is selected and AWB finishes without an error indication. Record a short test alternating cameras with someone on stage, then play it back. Repeat the comparison if lighting changes: the morning's setting may not suit the afternoon session.

On an FR7, separate enabling VISCA from testing each control

If you already have SDI or HDMI video, check PTZ control too. In vMix, the camera and computer must share the control network. If video arrives through a capture device, also check the Ethernet route to the camera.

For Sony ILME-FR7, check SETUP 3: ON accepts VISCA over IP and the setting takes effect at power-on. The manual adds an easily missed condition: the administrator password must be configured. Prepare these settings off air and follow that camera's startup procedure.

In a vMix edition that includes PTZ, open Input Settings > PTZ. Review the Sony VISCA over IP category in its compatibility list, enter the camera address and use Connect. Test the movements and controls needed: check what responds after connecting.

Before creating show shortcuts, record what responded and what remains pending. Test with the installed lens and compare operation from the camera itself. If an integration controls movement but lacks iris, check that command and its implementation before promising full control.

If a preset undoes exposure, check what it recalls

If an AW-UE150 returns to an old exposure when recalling a shot, compare what changed: framing, focus, iris, gain or white balance. Record the preset and previous settings. This comparison helps review its scope before saving all shots again.

In Preset Scope, p.72, Mode A includes pan, tilt, zoom, focus, iris, gain and white-balance adjustment. Mode B excludes gain and white balance. Mode C also excludes iris, but still includes focus: it is not just a position.

To retain exposure and white-balance corrections when recalling shots, test C off program. Preset focus is recalled in Manual. The preset does not save or recall focus and iris Auto/Manual modes. Check focus when returning to the lectern and panel.

Check auto iris and ATW separately. Save a sample alternating shots under event lighting and record Scope and focus mode alongside the preset. Repeat the test if the participant's position changes.

FX30 and an LED sign: fine-tune and check the file

If bands appear when an LED sign enters the frame, record with the sign off, then on. Retain the other settings to compare what changed before adjusting the whole camera.

On FX30, Sony specifies MENU → Shooting → Shutter/Silent → Anti-flicker Set. Enable Var. Shutter and adjust Var. Shutter Set. You need an exposure mode that allows manual shutter control.

Fine-tune while watching the bands and record a sample. Sony warns that monitor and file can differ, especially at fast shutter speeds; checking the recording is part of this test.

Test lighting scenes and save labeled samples. If the sign improves but another light still produces bands, record the combination. Sony warns that flicker may persist.

Check the converter when switching fails

If an FX3 reaches Shogun 7 through a Micro Converter HDMI to SDI 3G, record the received format and the mode that fails. Seeing one camera alone does not verify switching between several.

Connect that Micro to Converters Setup with a USB-C data cable and check 3G SDI Output: it offers Level A or Level B. In this route the FX3 outputs HDMI; the SDI setting is on the converter.

Save the previous value and compare an input using the level supported by the receiver in that mode. Then repeat cuts with all cameras. Keep the settings verified together.

A7S III: test HDMI playback too

If A7S III shows live video but loses signal during playback, record firmware, monitor and received format. Test recording, playback and returning to capture with the same cabling.

On ILCE-7SM3, HDMI Resolution controls output during still photography or playback. It differs from HDMI Output Settings for movie shooting. If Auto fails, choose a monitor-supported resolution, such as 1080p, and repeat the sequence.

This camera's zebra does not output over HDMI, and Gamma Display Assist does not apply to external-monitor video either. If those aids are needed, check the monitor's own functions. Notify direction before switching to playback.

Share a coverage schedule with the key moments

Mark in the program which moments need coverage and how they will be used: room screen, live stream or editing. Include who speaks, where they move and which action you want to show.

Also mark segments that will not be filmed and positions still awaiting venue approval. If the floor plan is a draft, say so on the worksheet so everyone works from that version.

Name the person who will notify camera direction of program changes. When adding an award presentation or performance, send the updated schedule and explain the coverage changes.

URSA Broadcast G2: check the return for tally and control

If URSA Broadcast G2 video reaches a compatible ATEM over SDI but control does not, check the return. The URSA Broadcast G2 manual specifies: camera 12G-SDI output to ATEM input, and ATEM SDI output to camera 12G-SDI input. Multiview and downconverted outputs do not carry control commands.

In Setup, match ATEM Camera ID to the input: input 3, ID 3. Test tally and control on each camera to verify the return.

AW-UE150: check the frozen image when recalling a preset

On AW-UE150, if the image stays still when recalling a preset, check Freeze During Preset. The DVQP1812TA manual explains that On retains the previous image during the change and releases the freeze when the preset finishes.

Test two presets while someone speaks and watch program. Agree with direction when to move off air and when to declare the camera ready.

AW-UE150: test HDMI and SDI with their exact formats

With System Format set to 1080/25PsF, AW-UE150 outputs 1080/25p over HDMI and 1080/25PsF over 12G SDI OUT and 3G SDI OUT. The DVQP1812TA manual, p.18 distinguishes the connectors, even though the image comes from the same camera.

On the worksheet record connector, resolution, frame rate and p/PsF label, plus the destination's accepted format. Test that route with the switcher or recorder and retain a sample. An HDMI test leaves SDI verification pending.

AW-UE150: check the framing restored at power-on

On AW-UE150, Power On Position defines startup behavior. According to the DVQP1812TA manual, p.71, None retains pan and tilt but moves zoom to Wide. Preset recalls the position specified in Preset Number.

Record the intended preset for restoring the panel shot after restarting. An unregistered number is equivalent to None. Rehearse startup and check framing before returning the camera to program.

AW-RP60: distinguish selection, connection and tally

In AW-RP60G, choose the CAM GP group, then CAMERA SELECTION. The amber button identifies the selected camera; the lower green LED indicates connection and amber indicates standby.

With tally received, a red or green button corresponds to an unselected camera. Selecting it turns the button amber and tally is read on the LCD. Rehearse this distinction before moving a PTZ during the talk.

AW-UE150: test tracking at a tight zoom

In AW-UE150, Pan/Tilt > Speed With Zoom Position set to On reduces pan and tilt speed as zoom increases. Compare a correction from a wide shot and from a tight shot of the speaker's face.

Test off program and record the approved setting. The manual excludes preset movements: rehearse those changes separately before using them in the talk.

vMix 29: Preview can move a PTZ before the cut

A PTZ virtual input recalls a position on the same camera when selected in Preview. If that camera is still in Output through another input, the audience may see the movement. Put another camera on air before selecting it.

Wait for movement to finish and check the shot before taking it to Output. Outside Preview and Output, the virtual input shows the still saved when it was created; that thumbnail does not confirm current framing. vMix 29: PTZ virtual inputs.

MOVE 4K: check Auto Focus L

In OSD > Setup, Auto Focus L set to On locks the current focus; Off allows normal autofocus. Test off program: recall the preset, have the participant change distance and check the received image.

PTZOptics MOVE 4K: OSD.

FR7: test Push AF/MF when someone crosses the shot

Use an AF-compatible lens. If it has a focus selector, check that it is in AF/MF or AF and the camera is in AF. Holding Push AF/MF allows manual focus; releasing it returns to autofocus. Test off program with someone crossing in front of the speaker and check the received image.

FR7: distinguish ECS from Flicker Reduce

In the web application, Shutter → Shutter Type → ECS sets shutter frequency. Available values depend on recording format.

Flicker Reduce → Frequency, 50Hz/60Hz, corresponds to the lighting's power frequency. Record both controls when comparing takes.

HXC-FB80: check where you measure focus

In OPERATION → <FOCUS ASSIST>, adjust SIZE and POSITION. A large area may include the background and distort the reading. AREA MARKER shows that area; INDICATOR and AREA MARKER are not displayed together: the last enabled remains visible. Check focus on the person.

This function only displays a viewfinder aid; it does not move focus or eliminate moiré.

URSA Broadcast G2: check Main SDI

Front SDI outputs HD. Check Monitor → Main SDI → SDI Output (fifth menu page), choose the format agreed with the receiver and check fps and image at that input. Manual.

URSA Broadcast G2: REF and EXT

REF indicates valid, locked reference; EXT indicates valid external timecode. SDI timecode requires valid data and fps matching the camera. Check indicators and the saved take. Manual.

URSA Broadcast G2: program and talkback

With a compatible ATEM, Setup 4 → Program Audio Source and Program Mix define camera monitoring. Camera Fiber Converter uses its own controls. Test communication in both directions. Manual.

Test camera routes separately

During rehearsal, start with one identified camera and input. Keep a sample of the problem and record each change: port, cable, setting or destination. Check the result again before adding another change.

Use the table to organize checks. Then repeat the test at the planned positions and with the program's shot changes. If something responds on only one route, record that difference for the person reviewing setup.

Complete the camera section of the signal worksheet. To coordinate equipment and operation, share the floor plan, models and samples with GLMedia cameras and streaming.

CR-N500 and vMix: the offset changes during recording

The Canon guide for firmware 1.7.0, pp.54 and 86, relates frame rate, HDMI/SDI format and IP stream rates. Record each route's format; those sections do not guarantee NDI synchronization.

In vMix 29, Statistics, Source Dropped, Renderer Dropped and Resync help distinguish input and rendering losses; Audio shows buffering and resampling. Record the counters alongside the observed offset.

We suggest recording a visible, audible clap at the start and end of rehearsal. Note which arrives first and how much it changes. Compare one camera over NDI and SDI while retaining the audio route; then repeat with all cameras. Use the worksheet and review signal routes.

MOVE 4K and OBS: the offset appears when switching scenes

For MOVE 4K, the Gen 3 documentation describes IP stream rates and separate audio settings. Record those values and the audio source. The PT30X options in the same setup require their own documentation.

The official DistroAV 6.2.1 interface labels, Behavior and Framesync, distinguish Keepalive and mark Framesync as experimental. Seeing the setting does not show that it is the cause or that changing it fixes this case.

We suggest rehearsing one camera without cuts first, then repeating scene changes and adding the others. Record comparable samples, note the offset before/after cuts on the worksheet and review route comparison.

P200: check power and access separately

The exact model is missing. The P200 used below as an example has its own requirements: we do not transfer them to that FoMaKo.

The P200 guide, NDI 5 edition from 2022, page 14, requires PoE+ 802.3at. For 12 V DC it specifies only the supplied adapter, JEITA type 4.

The specification sheet states a maximum 19.7 W with simultaneous PTZ movement. That figure alone does not size the switch's power budget.

We suggest recording per-port capacity and total available power, then comparing video and access during controlled movements off show. If HDMI works and the web interface fails, also check IP, subnet mask and route; no cause has yet been proven.

Use the worksheet. Related: camera routes and event cameras.

PLAY receives 50p, but the monitor reports 60p

The PLAY guide, October 2023, page 10, describes Stream Info as source information. Compare it with the HDMI format received by the destination.

We suggest comparing a direct connection and matrix using the same source and visible movement, off show. Record received format and power-on order on the worksheet. Then repeat with the complete route.

vMix 29: compare Preview with the actual output

In vMix 29 Performance, Display Method affects GPU Preview/Output windows and Fullscreen. It does not change recording, streaming or External Output.

Smooth prioritizes fluid motion and may add a couple of frames; Low Latency prioritizes less delay and may look less smooth. We suggest comparing them off show, keeping source and format unchanged. Check the recorded file and transmission return separately. Do not confuse Display Method with Low Latency Capture, a different setting.

Record each route on the worksheet. Related: vMix counters (Spanish), synchronization for IMAG and event cameras.

vMix 29: more NDI buffering also adds delay

Camera count alone does not determine a capture card or buffer setting. Identify model, versions, format and system load before sizing capture.

The vMix 29 guide says Increase Buffer Size may improve smoothness on unstable or wireless networks, adding approximately five frames. Low Bandwidth Mode uses a lower-resolution version; check the detail reaching program.

We suggest testing each option separately with movement, text and a visible, audible clap. Record smoothness, detail and delay on the worksheet. Return to the initial setting for comparison and repeat with all cameras.

Five frames equal about 100 ms at 50p or 200 ms at 25p: this is a calculation for the setting, not a measurement of the whole chain.

If the camera shakes, record which movement reaches the shot

Identify the platform manufacturer and model before choosing deck and accessories.

We suggest comparing a wide shot and the tightest detail needed on air from the intended position. Keep camera, lens and settings identified, and separately record what happens with the operator still, during normal operation and with authorized nearby circulation.

Watch the production monitor and save a clip of each situation. Do not test jumping or change supports to provoke the problem. If movement appears, review the floor, assembly and separation of positions with the supplier before seeking electronic correction.

Tip: record what changed between comparisons. A steadier image after several simultaneous changes does not identify which caused the improvement. Observation worksheet.

Portable platform: draw the workspace as well as the camera

Check the camera and support assembly before reserving it.

We suggest drawing the open tripod's footprint and the operator's space with monitor, controls and access. Note whether they work standing or seated and how they reach controls throughout coverage. A height that clears the audience may leave an uncomfortable workstation if chosen without the actual equipment.

Add doors, turns and staging space for disassembled parts to the plan. Coordinate who may approach during the show and where cables exit. Skirting addresses appearance; access and edge protection must be defined with the setup team.

Include those needs in the request for cameras and streaming alongside the Camera Risers configuration. Confirm supplier dimensions and parts before assuming a portable platform suits the entire day.

The camera returns after tilting: check position and counterbalance

For Ace XL S2170-0001, the S2170-4980/0 manual requires holding the pan bar, centering the load and securing the plate. With the tilt brake engaged, it starts tilt drag and counterbalance at 1; then releases the brake and adjusts while holding the bar. Tilting through horizontal is needed to engage the spring.

If it falls forward, engage the brake and move the plate back; if it falls backward, move the plate forward. Follow the complete procedure.

Before coverage, we suggest recording camera, lens, battery, monitor and accessories exactly as they will be used. Record plate position and settings during the manual's check. If changing the assembly, note it so the next operator knows the configuration received.

Tip: describe whether it falls forward, backward or returns to center, and over which range. This is more useful for support than saying the head feels stiff. Do not copy a numeric position from another rig or add objects to compensate.

Choose the head using the complete rig and center-of-gravity height

The Ace XL specifies 0–8 kg at a 55 mm center of gravity (PDF 7). Retain both conditions; these are not Ace M specifications.

We suggest sending the supplier the complete equipment, its measured weight and accessory arrangement. Request the offered model's counterbalance table or curve and the condition under which its load is specified. Record missing information before reserving.

Include the tilt range and tightest planned shot: tracking a speaker, sport or stage detail. Prepare a check with that assembly and position, without treating published capacity as an operational result.

Include these details in the request for cameras and streaming. Also coordinate the operator workstation footprint.

Panning lost resistance: record the symptom before requesting service

It receives quotes and suggestions; it does not confirm a repair or technical diagnosis.

The Ace XL offers three drag levels and 0. Turn the ring to the intended setting and move the head slowly until it engages. The manual prohibits using brakes as drag and refers faults to technical service.

We suggest recording reference, serial number, affected axis and settings. Save a clip of the movement's start, travel and stop with focal length and configuration identified. Ace XL documentation describes that model's controls; diagnosing an Ace M MS requires its specific documentation.

To prepare a test, choose the movement needed for the show and agree conditions with the camera lead. Compare one variable at a time. A different feel between two heads does not by itself show which part failed.

If movement coincides with people passing, include the riser vibration record. Keep observations separate so the supplier receives both the head symptom and the support conditions.

Use the head and movement worksheet to prepare rehearsal and complete results afterward. We do not open equipment or validate repairs in this guide.

Before ordering a quick-release plate, identify the plate and receiver

The Sachtler S2068-4980/3 manual distinguishes plates for these heads (PDF 7, printed page 5):

To prepare the request, we suggest photographing the head, plate and receiver references. Include the camera and existing adapters. Ask the supplier for a documented combination: a width measurement or similar-looking photo leaves questions unresolved.

The consulted manual describes mounting on those heads; it does not validate another brand's receiver or installation on a vehicle. If intended use changes, record it in the request and seek specific documentation before selecting parts.

Tip: in the request for cameras and streaming, write references separately. This avoids receiving another plate when the missing part was the receiver or an adapter.

Before ordering a quick-release plate, identify the plate and receiver

The camera rotates on the plate: locate the moving joint

Sachtler warns that unapproved parts, accessories or work may affect safety and warranty (PDF 5). This is not an F38 diagnosis.

As a suggested check, first identify where movement occurs: camera on plate, plate in receiver or intermediate adapter. Have the camera lead handle this with the assembly supported. Record the position in which it occurs, without trying to provoke a fall to demonstrate the symptom.

Record models, screw and pin references, and photos of contact surfaces. With these details, request the procedure and parts intended for that camera and plate. Leave missing references pending; this case does not establish a screw length, tightening torque or modification.

We do not prescribe washers, filing or extra force. If attachment remains unresolved, notify the supplier and coordinate replacement or inspection before using that assembly.

Link the record to the rig and head details.

The plate clicked: finish locking it and check access

For Sideload, engage both brakes and hold the camera during mounting. The plate enters the guide and the catch clicks. After balancing, secure it with the locking knob: these are separate steps (PDF 22–23, printed 20–21). Consult the full procedure before operating.

To organize rehearsal, we suggest identifying plate controls in a photo and recording the manual section to follow. The responsible person completes mounting and records the locks applied; the click alone is not a record of the complete procedure.

Before the event, we suggest checking battery, card and connector access with the intended accessories. Record what can open and what requires camera removal. We do not claim that the plate obstructs the M50: that combination's manuals and checks are missing.

Tip: coordinate who changes batteries or cards during coverage and when. If disassembly is required, include that pause in the plan and then repeat the actual equipment's mounting procedure. Also use the counterbalance help.

A7R V: identify the protector before securing HDMI or USB

Sony specifies the protector to prevent disconnections on A7R V ILCE-7RM5. Open HDMI and USB covers, fit the hook and cover as illustrated, secure the screw, then hold the cable with the dial. Consult Sides, PDF 46–48 to identify parts and order.

For the suggested rehearsal, record camera, protector, cable and receiver. Check access to controls, screen and covers with show accessories.

Go through the planned shots with the camera lead and record where the cable becomes taut, rubs or catches. Do not pull-test the connector. If disconnections occur, record received format, position and what changed; this helps prepare a comparison without assuming the port is broken.

Tip: include in the request for cameras and streaming both the cable and its restraint. Coordinate routing with the plate and camera access.

Ronin-SC: prepare balance with the show's cabling

It receives suggestions for a lightweight cable or wireless link; it does not confirm a solution.

DJI requires configuring camera, accessories and cables before balancing Ronin-SC, powered off or in sleep mode. Remove the lens cap and follow the lens conditions in Before Balancing, PDF 12, printed 10.

Auto Tune follows balancing, with all three axes unlocked and the assembly upright on a stable surface (PDF 24, printed 22). It does not by itself validate the cable route.

As a suggested check, draw which cables move with the camera and where the monitor sits. With the assembly supported, follow the model's full balancing procedure and observe the range needed for the shot. Record contact or tension before preparing powered movement.

If comparing another cable, record its reference and route, repeat DJI's prescribed balancing and keep a sample of the same movement. Describe what changed.

Tip: distinguish control and video cables in the request. To connect control, consult Ronin-SC Camera Connections and camera compatibility. We do not transfer its USB control sequence to an HDMI connection recipe.

A7 IV: record USB power and battery use during coverage

To power A7 IV ILCE-7M4 from an adapter, Sony requires a sufficiently charged battery and USB-C connection; connect or disconnect USB with the camera off. When on, it does not charge the battery, which may supply additional power. Removing it turns the camera off. Manual, PDF 95.

USB Power Supply controls power from a computer or USB device; it does not enable Multi/Micro USB power. With an AC adapter, power is received even when Off. Review the model's section, PDF 478; do not treat menu status as proof of the assembly.

To plan coverage, we suggest separating each route on the worksheet. Record source, output port, cable, adapter and destination input.

Prepare a check with the planned duration, format, monitor and recording. Record the power icon, starting and ending battery level, interruptions and operating conditions. Runtime still needs measurement: being plugged in does not support a promise to last the entire conference.

Tip: agree breaks and responsibility for batteries or connections with direction. Include the record in the streaming plan (Spanish) and use the cabling and power worksheet to complete results after rehearsal.

Ronin-SC and A6000/A6300: identify the cable before changing settings

The DJI list dated 28 January 2021, for gimbal 1.6.0.50, documents A6000/A6300 with Multi: wheel zoom depending on lens, not electronic focus. Listed versions correspond to tests.

Ronin-SC Camera Connections requires the gimbal off to connect or remove RSS. Connect the specified cable to the control port; then turn on Ronin-SC before the camera.

To prepare the test, record camera model, lens, installed firmware, cable reference and every port. Also identify who triggers REC during coverage. If several things changed together, retrieve the record before continuing: you do not yet know which mattered.

We suggest checking a take's start and stop and reviewing the saved file. Record button response, autofocus and wheel separately. One working command does not demonstrate the others. The table summarizes documented functions; your setup's result is completed after rehearsal.

Tip: include the cable and requested function in the request for cameras and streaming. Coordinate this check with the balance and cable routing.

A7 III and Ronin-SC: record which control returned and which still fails

A7 III with Type-C: camera MF, lens AF if it has an AF/MF selector, Ctrl w/Smartphone Off and PC Remote. Electronic focus requires Ronin-S/SC Focus Wheel. DJI warns: body stabilization is disabled, lens stabilization remains; playback may require sleep mode. Complete row.

On A7 III ILCE-7M3, Sony places USB Connection in MENU → Setup. It first requires MENU → Network → Ctrl w/ Smartphone → Ctrl w/ Smartphone → Off. USB Connection describes PC Remote for computer control; Ctrl w/ Smartphone corresponds to Wi-Fi connection. Application to the gimbal is cross-checked with DJI.

Before changing menus, save a photo or record of their values. Follow the section for the identified cable and reserve verification for rehearsal. If the cable has no reference, leave it pending; connector shape alone cannot finalize the request.

As a suggested test, repeat a short take after each change and record what worked. Keep the sample and menu states. If one function returns and another fails, describe both when requesting support. This explains a partial result without assigning an unverified cause.

Tip: bring the gimbal-control worksheet to the test of recording guide. A received HDMI image and a REC command are different checks.

Canon EOS R and Ronin-SC: check the mode before testing REC

Identify the cable and separately check connection and camera photo/video mode.

For EOS R, DJI specifies Type-C and distinguishes commands: photo in photo mode, video in movie mode. Canon EOS R row.

We suggest starting by recording camera mode, cable, lens, adapter and actual firmware of both devices. Prepare a test take with the camera lead and record whether recording starts and stops; then check the file.

Test the focus control required for the shot separately, following the camera's full row. If REC does not respond, also record what happens using the camera's own control. This gives support a clear symptom; it does not yet identify the fault's source.

Tip: before the event stream (Spanish), agree who checks that each take was recorded and where it will be reviewed. Complete results on the worksheet; no rehearsals of this setup have yet been recorded.

A7 III: the monitor goes black when USB control is added

Another person describes a black image with Ronin-S while screen information remains visible. Neither confirms a solution.

Sony, pages 286–287: the camera LCD turns off during HDMI playback; some format changes briefly darken the image. Identify which screen fails and when.

If Auto does not show the image correctly, Sony specifies choosing an HDMI Resolution compatible with the destination, page 334. That check does not establish a solution for USB plus HDMI.

For Ronin-SC with USB-C control, DJI specifies entering sleep mode using the power button to access playback. It does not document HDMI image recovery here.

We suggest starting with an HDMI sample and recording format, frame rate, menus and cable. Then repeat with the intended USB control, following your gimbal manufacturer's connections. Record one change at a time. If video is lost, note whether it occurs on connection, power-on or REC.

The table separates moments often combined when describing the fault.

Tip: use the HDMI and USB control worksheet alongside the Ronin-SC control help. When asking about cameras and streaming, provide the monitor model and exact symptom.

A7 III: HDMI Info. Display disabled and menus for training

HDMI Info. Display, page 336: On sends shooting information; Off removes it. With a 4K-compatible TV, Off is selected automatically. When recording XAVC S 4K connected over HDMI, the camera LCD shows no image.

4K Output Sel., page 259: Memory Card+HDMI records to card and outputs video; HDMI Only outputs without internal recording. This setting requires movie mode and a 4K-compatible destination.

Before changing output, define what you want to deliver: an image without indicators for the event or a menu demonstration. Prepare a separate sample for each use.

If rehearsing in HD, first record the format agreed with direction and restore it afterward. Prepare a short take and check where it was saved. The Ninja V manual and its reception and recording still need checking; we do not assume receiving an image means keeping a file.

Tip: write down who starts the take and who checks the copy. Coordinate that test with event recording and streaming (Spanish). Keep the sample and menu values to repeat rehearsal.

Ninja V with A7 III: no 4K recording or REC is disabled

Neither the changed setting nor the SSD is identified.

Ninja V, manual for AtomOS 10.82 or later: Input → Signal shows received resolution and frame rate. REC is disabled without a valid signal, disk or format, or with a full disk (PDF 90 and 82).

We suggest recording camera output and recorder input separately before changing menus. Record both exact models and firmware, cable and disk reference. If REC is disabled, keep the message accompanying the symptom; no cause has yet been verified for this case.

For rehearsal, make a short take using the recorder's own control and review the saved sample. Record resolution and duration. Then compare with the event's required format. Do not validate a file merely because video appears on the monitor.

The official media list for the required format still needs checking before recommending a purchase.

Tip: keep the A7 III recording-destination help available and complete the external recording worksheet. Provide those details when asking about cameras and streaming.

A7 III and Ninja V: there is an image, but the camera button does not trigger REC

Do not transfer another camera's settings to A7 III without checking the model and manual.

Sony ILCE-7M3, REC Control, PDF 338: MENU → Setup → HDMI Settings → REC Control. Requires movie mode, TC Output enabled and a compatible recorder. The sent-command indicator does not guarantee that the recorder works.

Ninja V Trigger and SmartControl separate HDMI command and rolling-timecode triggering. None disables triggering. With rolling timecode, REC RUN and FREE RUN change behavior; FREE RUN can start immediately (PDF 96, 293–294).

TC Output, PDF 337: if On alters the image, Sony specifies trying Off. That makes REC Control unavailable. Agree how to start recording before testing it; do not change the setting during a take.

As a suggested A7 III test, start with a direct HDMI link and record previous values. In Ninja V, check Input → Trigger and Source for the intended HDMI trigger. Test start and stop from the camera and verify the external file too. If the recorder control works but the camera control fails, retain both results for support.

Choose the triggering method coverage needs before modifying timecode. A visible counter does not demonstrate receipt of a start command. Another camera or signal route requires its own rehearsal.

Tip: complete the table with an identifiable sample and coordinate who reviews the copy in event recording. If gimbal USB is also involved, consult the HDMI and USB control check.

Ninja V: a direct LANC button is not validated by the connector

Ninja V connections, PDF 17–18: Remote/Calibration uses 2.5 mm; audio ports use 3.5 mm. It describes LANC Client: controller connected to the camera first, then output through a Y cable to Ninja.

Before requesting a remote, identify manufacturer, reference, protocol, cable and connected device. Jack diameter is insufficient. We do not transfer the manual's LANC diagram to A7 III without an identified compatible interface, or to Ninja V+ without reviewing its documentation.

We suggest consulting the remote's full diagram and testing start and stop before coverage. If it does not respond, record connection and result; these details let support discuss compatibility without attributing the fault to an unverified brand or firmware.

If considering triggering from the camera over HDMI, use the REC help and reserve a test for the actual setup.

Ninja V: checking the SSD by model, capacity and format

Open the official media list and select Ninja V. Compare model and capacity, then the required format's column. The red key groups Untested/Failed: it does not distinguish missing testing from failure. Secure Erase is a different column; it does not certify recording.

The list evaluates media-and-format combinations. A similar name or advertised speed does not replace that check.

Atomos, Media refers to approved media. With ATOMOS CONNECT installed, Master Caddy II does not fit Ninja V: Master Caddy III, SSDmini or CFast Adapter is specified. Confirm the disk's physical carrier before ordering too.

Ninja V, Media Menu, PDF 219 shows brand, model and capacity. If they do not appear, Atomos suggests checking media connection and alignment.

We suggest photographing the SSD label and keeping the full reference. If media or format does not match the table, leave compatibility pending and ask the manufacturer with these details. A drive from the same family working in another setup does not validate yours.

Tip: send disk reference, required format and recorder model when asking about cameras and streaming. To review signal and REC, use the external recording help.

Ninja V: checking the SSD by model, capacity and format

Ninja V: the kangaroo appears or a long take stops

Check separately whether the image improves and whether the symptom disappears throughout the test.

Ninja V, HDMI cables, PDF 32: disconnecting HDMI during REC produces the Skippy warning. The icon alone does not identify an SSD fault.

Record Menu, PDF 113 presents Space Remaining as expected time for current settings. It is a capacity estimate, not a continuous-recording test.

Format, PDF 220 requires backing up content first and provides confirmation. Secure Erase removes everything without recovery; do not treat it as the automatic response to a stopped take.

As a suggested rehearsal, prepare the complete event route and first record received format, codec, power, media and available time. Record the planned session duration, including the agreed early start. A short clip can check signal; it does not cover continuity for an entire conference.

If recording stops, note the minute, exact warning, whether video was still arriving and which files remain. Repeat with one identified change, such as another drive already checked for that format or a reference cable. Review the saved file's start, middle and end and compare its duration with rehearsal. Do not change codec and disk together if you want to distinguish results.

Write down who watches REC during the session and who checks the copy. If recording yourself with a teleprompter, agree a way to observe recording status in that setup; do not assume the camera confirms the external file.

Tip: complete the media and long-rehearsal worksheet and coordinate delivery with the event recording help. If the signal also goes live, review the route with the streaming guide (Spanish).

Ninja V plays the SSD, but the computer asks to initialize it

Recording to another SSD does not recover the first drive's files. Preserve the original media and treat recovery as a separate task.

Ninja V, Connecting media, PDF 362–363: align the media with the docking station and insert gently without forcing. The computer accesses content through exFAT.

Atomos, Master Caddy Docking Station includes SSDmini, Master Caddy II with SSD and CFast Adapter with its media. Master Caddy 1 may fit the dock but is incompatible with Ninja V. Confirm reader model and disk carrier; connector appearance does not validate the assembly.

If material remains to be copied, do not accept initialization or formatting as a connection test. Preserve the original and record the exact message. We suggest checking separately whether the system detects the device, mounts a volume and opens the folder; these are three distinct observations.

Identify SSD, capacity, caddy, reader, cable, adapters and operating-system version. Compare the reader with a test drive containing no unique material, already known on that route. If the original remains inaccessible, consult support with the recorded tests before attempting repairs that modify it.

Tip: use the download and copies worksheet. The Ninja V media help covers recording qualification; also bring the reader reference when asking about cameras and streaming.

It looks as though Ninja V recorded a LUT: separate monitor, file and output

The reply says reviewing RAW conversion in the editor helped, but does not detail the final setting.

Ninja V, During Record and During Output, PDF page 326: a LUT can be baked into recording, but the manual excludes that function with ProRes RAW. During Output applies the look to HDMI output. Identify the codec before concluding that a LUT was recorded.

Atomos, Ninja V LUTs tab, updated 22 August 2024, distinguishes applying a LUT to display, recording and output. The monitor LUT's name appears in MON. This helps identify viewing, but does not replace recording codec and option records.

Ninja V, Compare, PDF pages 326–327: split view also reaches HDMI output and is unavailable with a LUT applied to recording. If output feeds another screen or recorder, check the image it receives.

As a suggested test, preserve the original file and use a copy. First identify ProRes RAW, ProRes 422 or another codec. Record the active LUT and monitor mode, and whether footage comes from the Ninja SSD or another recorder connected to its HDMI. These are different routes and should be compared separately.

Record the editor's source settings and subsequent transforms. Do not promise to remove a baked-in LUT merely because the editor menu says no LUT: that menu does not describe everything that happened earlier. For ProRes RAW, first check interpretation in the editor; for a recording with a baked-in LUT, preserve the original and assess delivery without promising to restore camera log.

Tip: complete the LUT and color worksheet. Relate the test to ProRes RAW import and recording delivery. When coordinating cameras and streaming, also identify who receives HDMI output.

FX3 and FX30: choose shutter control by model and firmware

Record the model label and body version before looking for a menu. For FX3, Sony specifies MENU → Setup → Setup Option → Version → Body on its firmware page. Also record rehearsal fps and exposure mode.

On FX3, Anti-flicker Shoot. is intended for still photography and is unavailable in movie mode. The consulted FX3 guide does not document the FX30 Var. Shutter menu. A screenshot from another model is therefore insufficient to select this camera's control.

In FX3 from firmware 6.00 and FX30 from 5.00, MENU → Exposure/Color → Exposure → Shutter Mode offers Speed or Angle. Angle requires shutter priority, manual exposure or Flexible Exp. Mode with manual shutter. Sony stores Speed and Angle separately: when switching, check value and exposure before returning to program.

Shutter, but the replies do not verify that menu on FX3 or provide a final take.

Advice such as 'try 172.8°' needs fps. Exposure time is calculated as t = angle / (360 × fps). The table is our calculation using exact frame rates; it does not list selectable angles for each camera or demonstrate a clean LED image. If your camera permits the chosen setting, record a comparison with the event's content and movement.

FX30: check the setting during capture and after recalling it

For a video call or stream with an LED background, we suggest comparing every destination actually used: camera monitor, internal recording if planned, capture-device input and system file or stream. A clean monitor alone does not approve the full route.

According to Sony, FX30 Reg. Custom Shoot Set does not store the Var. Shutter high-resolution value; it applies the default. Check the recalled value.

Make a reference sample and another changing only one setting. Keep framing, repeat a contribution with movement and watch the speaker too: a cleaner screen is insufficient if gestures become too blurred. Compare the sign on and off and the planned lighting scenes. We suggest rehearsing this sequence; we do not present it as a confirmed repair.

Save each sample with settings recorded and repeat the comparison if content, LED brightness, lighting or camera format changes. If screen processor changes are needed, coordinate with its operator and follow the model documentation. The MX30 latency and Genlock guide (Spanish) helps record LED-side functions.

Use the Sony and LED rehearsal worksheet to record bands, exposure, movement and the destination reviewed. Link that rehearsal to event recording and the service for GLMedia cameras and streaming.

Frequently asked questions

How many cameras would you use at a conference?

Start with wide shot and speaker, then add tasks: panel, questions or product detail. Check which positions can cover them and who operates them. A column or standing audience can block a shot; check in the room.

Is a 16× zoom enough from the back?

16× only relates the focal-length endpoints. Find focal lengths, sensor and distance, then test the tightest and wide shots from the actual position. That establishes whether it covers that face or detail.

Does a PTZ replace the operator?

Someone must operate or supervise it. Prepare control and presets, then test tracking, starts and stops with the actual program. Remote movement does not solve a poor position.

Does an HDMI-to-SDI adapter make everything compatible?

Check what the converter receives and outputs. It may change the connection without providing the resolution or fps needed. Test the route to the switcher with that format and length.

Can I combine cameras from different brands?

Yes, with compatible signals and workflow. Compare exposure, white balance, color and delay before the show, and mark signal conversions. Cuts should retain the intended image.

Does NDI use the same connection as streaming?

NDI carries video between compatible devices over a network; streaming must also reach the platform. Trace both routes and check formats, load and links, even if they share infrastructure.

Does recording program give me every camera?

You have the shots selected by the director and what that output included. Preserving each input requires compatible ISO recording, routes and separately prepared media. Also check audio and editing synchronization.

What should I test with LED behind the speaker?

Bring camera, screen and lighting together with event settings. Check face, background, bands, color and movement. Save the configuration that worked and repeat if lighting or content changes.

How do I distinguish a camera fault from an input fault?

Change one thing at a time: same camera on another input, another camera on the suspect input and a known short cable. Record what moves the defect. If changing the patch as a workaround, review buttons, audio and shots before operating.

Does MotionSync make every G2 PTZ movement smooth?

PTZOptics describes it as experimental for coordinating movements toward presets. Test the actual model, firmware and zoom. If correction remains abrupt, cover it with another camera and reposition the PTZ off program.

Does ATEM ISO timecode also synchronize external audio recording?

The manual describes synchronized timecode within the ISO set generated by ATEM. For a separate recorder or DAW, prepare and test its reference and editing workflow. A test take with marks at the beginning and end checks whether they retain their relationship throughout the program.

Can I keep the R50 screen on and record to SD with camera + external monitor?

That specific setting disables card recording. Define where you will record the signal and check the test file before the event. This limit belongs to that R50 option; do not extend it to every camera or every clean HDMI output.

Must I disable autofocus to remove the HDMI focus box?

Start with HDMI display. The R50 manual describes hiding information with INFO in its external-display option. Before switching to manual focus just to remove the box, check the switcher's received image. Test again after opening a menu.

Should I turn off MOVE 4K AF sensitivity when focus changes?

The current menu offers High, Normal and Low; it has no Off for AF Sense. Compare settings with actual movement and zoom. If testing Manual, also check what happens when the participant changes distance.

Does SNAP keep MOVE 4K following the speaker in autofocus?

It performs a single autofocus and returns to Manual. It can adjust that shot, but does not continuously track a later change in speaker distance. Check focus before returning to air.

Does setting identical Kelvin in VAR match all AW-HE40 cameras?

Compare the images to confirm. Panasonic presents VAR as a reference without guaranteeing an absolute value. Use the same card under the participant's light and compare white and skin when cutting between cameras.

Why do my R/B corrections change after pressing AWB?

On HE40, running AWB resets R Gain and B Gain to zero. Balance first, then fine-tune; review the result if using AWB again or changing lighting.

Is SETUP 3 ON enough to control an FR7?

Sony also requires a configured administrator password. The switch takes effect at power-on; network, controller and functions still need testing.

If vMix moves the FR7, do I have all its controls?

Verify every required function with that camera, lens and version. The generic vMix VISCA list does not certify all FR7 controls.

Does AW-UE150 Mode C prevent focus recall?

It includes focus as well as pan, tilt and zoom. Preset focus is recalled in Manual; the preset does not change Auto/Manual mode.

Does Preset Scope C freeze automatic exposure and white balance?

Its scope excludes iris, gain and white balance from preset recall. Review Iris Mode and ATW separately: limiting recall does not disable automatic behavior.

What changes when Var. Shutter shows a decimal speed?

This is FX30 shutter fine-tuning. Disabling Var. Shutter selects a nearby normal speed; check another recorded sample if changing that state.

Is there one shutter speed that removes bands from every LED?

Sony warns that a suitable value may not exist for that light's frequency. Check actual lights and scenes in a test recording.

Is A/B changed on the FX3?

In this route it is selected on the Micro Converter HDMI to SDI 3G, after HDMI output.

Is testing one camera enough?

Also check all inputs and cuts in the operating mode you will use.

Does seeing live video confirm playback will work?

Test both states. A7S III has a specific HDMI resolution setting for playback.

Does enabling HDMI Info. Display output zebra?

The ILCE-7SM3 manual states that its zebra is not displayed on HDMI-connected devices.

How do I notify the camera team of a program change?

Send the updated program, highlight the added or moved action and notify the person agreed with direction. Confirm receipt of that version.

Why do I have URSA Broadcast G2 video but no control?

Check SDI return and ATEM Camera ID. A multiview output does not send those commands; ID must match the input.

Does a frozen image during preset recall indicate a fault?

Freeze During Preset may be enabled. With On, that pause is part of the behavior described in the AW-UE150 manual.

Does good AW-UE150 HDMI video confirm the SDI input?

At 1080/25PsF they are different signals: HDMI outputs p and SDI outputs PsF. Check that the destination accepts that SDI format.

Does None retain the last AW-UE150 zoom?

No. It retains pan/tilt, but zoom returns to the wide end; record how you will restore the shot.

Does an amber button mean that PTZ is on air?

It indicates selection. Check tally on the LCD and the program signal.

Does Speed With Zoom Position slow presets?

It does not affect their recall. Check presets separately from manual tracking.

Are two PTZ virtual inputs two independent cameras?

They share the physical unit. Prepare the position while another camera is in program and check the shot before cutting.

Does MOVE 4K Auto Focus L follow someone walking?

It does not automatically readjust focus. Check the movement before air.

Does releasing Push AF/MF retain manual focus?

It returns to autofocus; check how it picks up the speaker again.

Does Flicker Reduce Frequency adjust ECS?

They are separate controls; check which you changed.

Can HXC-FB80 show marker and indicator together?

No: the last enabled takes precedence.

Does Front SDI also validate Main SDI?

No: test each output separately.

Does REF confirm matching timecode?

No: compare timecode on each device.

Does hearing program confirm intercom?

No: test conversation in both directions.

Does switching to SDI prove NDI always drifts?

It only confirms that setup's result; compare your routes and versions.

Can I enable Keepalive and declare the problem solved?

Check the result with the setting enabled and save a rehearsal sample.

Does a PTZ powering on confirm correct power and network?

Record both routes and repeat the test with movement.

Does 50 fps in Stream Info confirm 50p over HDMI?

Also check the format received by the destination.

Does Smooth also fix stuttering in a recording?

That setting only affects GPU presentation; check the file separately.

Should I increase the NDI buffer to reduce delay?

It adds delay; compare whether smoother motion suits that destination.

What should I record when a camera shakes on a riser?

Camera, lens, zoom, settings, support and observed action. Compare stillness, normal operation and authorized circulation without changing several things at once. These are proposed checks, not completed tests.

How do I request a portable platform for the operator?

Draw tripod, operator, monitor, controls and access, with working heights and entry route. Confirm the actual assembly with the supplier; portability does not demonstrate a suitable workstation.

What should I note if the camera returns to center after tilting?

Model, complete rig, plate position, settings, return direction and range. Consult the equipment procedure; the discussed cases do not confirm a final repair.

Is specifying less than 8 kg enough when requesting Ace XL?

It also specifies a 55 mm center of gravity. Request a check with the actual assembly.

Can I adjust Ace XL pan by slightly tightening the brake?

The manual prohibits using brakes as drag. Identify controls and follow the appropriate adjustment.

Which plate does Sachtler specify for aktiv8 Sideload and aktiv8T?

S0164 for aktiv8 S2068S; S0364 for aktiv8T S2068T. Document any adapter separately.

What details should I send if the camera rotates on its plate?

Camera, plate, receiver and adapter references; moving joint, position and photos. Request parts and procedure for that combination.

Does the click finish mounting a Sideload plate?

The locking knob must still be secured after balancing. Follow the model's full procedure.

What is the Sony A7R V protector specified for?

Preventing disconnections with cables connected. Follow ILCE-7RM5 Sides; it does not guarantee prevention of every kind of damage.

When do I connect cables to balance Ronin-SC?

DJI requires the complete assembly, with accessories and cables connected, before balancing. Then check the intended movement range.
